The BlueCross BlueShield of Montana Headquarters in Helena reflects a forward-thinking approach to workplace design, creating a 93,000-square-foot environment that prioritizes employee wellness, collaboration, and brand identity. Guided by seven core values—Wellness, Flexibility, Value, Performance, Authenticity, Communication, and Fun—the project incorporates thoughtful features that promote health and connection. Prominent stairways encourage movement, a fully equipped workout room supports fitness, and an abundance of natural light creates a vibrant, uplifting atmosphere.

Collaboration is at the heart of the design, with open office layouts, flexible workspaces, and integrated technology fostering teamwork and adaptability as BlueCross BlueShield’s needs evolve. In partnership with the client, the design team also developed a comprehensive branding and graphics package that infuses the headquarters with a strong sense of identity. From a historical timeline and Governor’s Cup wall to “People and Places of Montana” installations and Café 406 branding, every element celebrates BlueCross BlueShield’s mission and Montana roots. This headquarters embodies a workplace that inspires productivity, well-being, and pride in place.
