The new Shodair Medical Office Building expands the hospital’s mission with a welcoming space dedicated to outpatient services and genetic care. At 25,574 square feet, the building is designed as a community-centered resource – an approachable, modern environment that supports both cutting-edge science and compassionate behavioral health services.
Inside, the “therapy mall” concept organizes the program into a central hub where patients and families can easily access psychiatric outpatient services alongside Shodair’s renowned Genetics Program. By placing clinical genetics and laboratory spaces within visual connection, the design celebrates transparency and the pursuit of knowledge, allowing families to feel engaged in the process of care.
Natural light, intuitive wayfinding, and comfortable interiors reinforce an atmosphere of openness and dignity. Together, these elements create a building that is not only functional but deeply responsive to the needs of its users.
As an extension of Shodair’s growing campus, the Medical Office Building enhances accessibility and ensures continuity of care. It embodies the hospital’s vision of uniting innovation and empathy – bringing specialized services under one roof to better serve children and families across Montana.
