The design of the new First Security Bank headquarters in Missoula, Montana, balances a sophisticated business environment with a warm, honest atmosphere that exemplifies the values of the community. The three-story, 39,400 sf structure reflects a commitment to both family and community.
The innovative design will be pursuing LEED Silver certification and utilizes the progressive technology of cross laminated timber (CLT) for the building structure. CLT affords the beauty of wood in a carbon sequestering material that lends warmth to the palette and reinforces Montana’s timber heritage.
Centered around a daylit circulation core, the design supports administrative functions and friendly customer service through a mixed mode of open and closed offices, teller and collaboration spaces, and easily accessible drive-through lanes. The office environment and outdoor terrace capitalize on daylight, views, and fresh air to prioritize employee wellness. Public plazas welcome visitors, and a centralized atrium with a grand staircase encourages employee movement and social connection. Inspired by Missoula’s outdoors, the holistic design evokes a sense of place and integrates First Security Bank’s iconic brand throughout the new headquarters.
