Elder Grove
Middle School

ARCHITECTURE   |   Interiors

As part of the longest-standing School District in Montana, Elder Grove Middle School preserves a deep-rooted sense of community heritage and school spirit. The design reflects the District’s desire to maintain its “small town” feel, while incorporating contemporary education concepts. The building seamlessly integrates with existing facilities, allowing elementary students on campus to share the new amenities, including multiple STEM labs, music and art spaces, and a new gym with locker rooms. A unique “collaboration corridor” provides ample break-out space for diverse learning activities, while a central Commons serves as the social heart of the school.

An agricultural influence

The school is strategically placed to capture views of the historic school
house on site. Built in 1900, the bell tower is still used to gather students for class.

A celebration of culture

Splashes of red adorn the halls to brand common areas with the school color, while historic photographs embellish the walls as floor-to-ceiling graphics, reinforcing Elder Grove’s identity with students and visitors.
