The simple yet elegant design of Ophthalmic Associates reflects the private practice’s ideology for precision and professionalism. The space is designed to provide patients with initial consultations and follow-up care. With surgical services provided off-site, the clinic’s aesthetic is less medical and more focused on comfort. The design implements abundant daylighting with the goal of reducing patient stress and elevating mood. Light serves as a visual cue to guide patients from exam rooms back to reception, eliminating the need for signage and maintaining the interior’s clean and simple feel.

The “T” design
The building’s T-shaped footprint expresses the simple programmatic layout. The Optical Shop and lobby occupy opposite ends of the clinic’s linear entrance, while exam rooms are arranged down the elongated perpendicular hallway.
An inviting facade
Constructed of primarily small dimension lumber, the building’s materials express a warm and welcoming appeal. The tall interior volumes of the lobby double as daylit access during the day and a lantern in the evening.
